1. Start every shift with an eight-point inspection

2. Record coolant pressure under a defined condition

A pressure reading is useful only when the measurement point, operating state and tool are identified. Representative HYM specifications list maximum oil pressure up to 100 kgf/cm², but the normal setting is process-specific and must follow the approved setup.

3. Trend coolant temperature instead of judging by touch

Record temperature at the same point and stage of the cycle so readings can be compared. Use at least 2 values—cycle start and cycle end—and investigate changes against the agreed operating limits.

4. Inspect chip evacuation over the full drilling cycle

Observe chip form and return from entry to final depth because a short trial may not reveal restriction. For a Ø10 mm hole drilled 600 mm deep, the 60:1 depth-to-diameter ratio makes full-depth observations more meaningful.

5. Inspect five coolant-circuit areas each week

Review the clean-oil supply, high-pressure lines, tool connection, dirty-oil return and filter area. These 5 locations cover both delivery and chip-removal paths.

6. Check tool guidance and entry components

Inspect guide condition, alignment surfaces and fasteners using the machine and tooling supplier’s criteria. Log the tool diameter and guide identification as 2 traceability fields before adjustment or replacement.

Walk the machine perimeter and inspect moving covers, cable carriers, coolant hoses and hydraulic or lubrication connections. Classify every finding into 3 states: acceptable, monitor or corrective action required.

Link every inspection, measurement, alarm and repair to the machine serial identity. Each record should include at least 6 fields: date, operating hours, check, measured result, action and technician.

12. Build the spare-parts list from the delivered configuration

Ask the supplier for part numbers and quantities for filters, seals, wear items, lubrication consumables and critical sensors. These 5 categories are a planning framework; the final list must match the machine bill of materials.
